Sweet 16 Party Venue in the Hudson Valley

JFP hosted another great Sweet 16 party in The Darkroom last weekend, and wow was it great!!!   Liz and her mom met me last month and loved the place.  She had floating candles in very cool lighted flowered vases for the candle ceremony, sushi at the bar, and all her closest friends- who can definitely scream.  It was also the first time we had a professional DJ and he was great!  He really added so much more to the party- so a big shout out to Eric from Right On Cue productions for bringing the night to new level.  Happy birthday Liz!

Headshot Photography in the Hudson Valley

I’ve been lucky enough to have photographed some very interesting people these past few months for headshots: Dr. Roxanne Partridge of embodyperiod.com, a couple of aspiring actors, real estate guru Colin Seitz and his team at Remax, Blue Angel pilot John Decker, some of the regular yoga instructors at Sportsplex, a former bride of mine Christine and her colleague Jackie who run Global to Local, long time friend and personal chef Kristin Hatfield, financial planner Mike Pine from Mass Mutual, and my good friend James Gagliano a former FBI agent who is now on CNN Law Enforcement Analyst. Recently I’ve been mixing it up a little at the studio regarding lighting, for no reason other than staying on my toes.  I still of course use my signature style, and I cannot escape that nor do I want to.  But doing something different is exciting for me which only benefits my clients, and I’d like to share some of my recent work.  Thanks for checking it out, and if you follow me on Instagram, I try keep up with headshot stories and posts.

Sweet 16 Party at The Darkroom

We’ve hosted quite a few Sweet 16 parties at the studio, but holy crap none of them like this!  If you know Cornwall, you should know Fiddlestix Cafe on Main St.  It’s a great place, and has amazing food and specials.  The owners’ daughter turned 16 this month, and she HAD to have the party at our studio we call The Darkroom.  The furniture is moved to the back so the kids can dance under the disco ball where the music is the loudest, and boy did they dance!  They also backflipped, cartwheeled, and backflipped again.  It was nuts!  They had the microphone in hand as if they were on stage, it really was a great time.  And a great mess to follow….  Here are the hits!

Hudson Valley Headshots

Just another update for the blog for the headshots I do here in studio.  Of course we do family portraits, a little product photography, but outside of weddings, I have to say that headshots is my studio specialty.  I have a look that I have been fine tuning for years now, and still do.  It’s perfect for any headshot needs: acting, modeling, business, corporate, social media, and even on line dating.  I have a make up artist on staff now, and packages that cover all bases.  Feel free to contact the studio for more info.  Thanks for checking this out!

Musician Headshots: Dean Scala

I really hope you all have heard of Dean Scala, who is one of the best musicians around.  We’ve known each other for about 15 years now, and first met when I was in a band and I’ve admired his work ever since. His last photo shoot was 10 years ago when I was at my first studio… we was way overdue.  If you would like to follow him, his facebook link is here, and thanks to Courtney Daly for helping out with Dean’s quite extensive wardrobe changes, and holding a light for me!  🙂

Corporate Headshots: Johnson & Johnson

Just wanted to share some location corporate headshots Natalie and I did a couple weeks ago for Janssen, a Johnson & Johnson pharmaceutical company.  We have the portable headshot studio thing down!  Set up and ready to go in 30 minutes.  Boom.  AND that’s with studio strobes not speedlites… to be technical. We had to drive down the night before and stay overnight due to our call time.  Well, in that area of NJ, we found a place called Freddy’s Tavern that was the ONLY place open on a Sunday night.  This place was great!  Home town local feel, great food, and Nicole tending a very big bar! The shoot day was laid back, no time restraints, and they let us do our thing.  Once word got out how happy everyone was with their headshot, more and more people came down.  We had under 30 people scheduled, and we photographed over 70.  Thank you so much Bonnie for contacting me, and here are just some of the staff… OH, and Nat with test faces.  🙂

Headshot Photography

I’ve been meaning to update my blog with some new headshot pics, and here they are!  Here at the JFP studio, headshots is the one thing we specialize in.  I always have a consultation before the shoot to make sure we’re all on the same page, and the client walks away with exactly what the need and more.  I love creating images that represent the person, and their career.  For anyone reading this that’s part of a corporation, I can’t stress enough how professional it looks to have headshot of your staff on your website.  For example, attorneys Drake Loeb came in randomly to my studio to update all their pics, and the final product looks great on their site.

I’ve been meaning to post another studio headshot blog, so here they are!  Featuring Gaz Regan, Andromeda, Andrew, and with the infamous pose that’s sweeping Cornwall- Kevin Kulic!  I personally want to thank Tom for his very flattering email, and I’m happy that my image helped him along the way to a promotion!

Product Photography Shoot with Stylo Furniture and Design

I’ve know Randy from Stylo since high school… He’s a good friend, and makes artwork disguised as furniture.  Our last shoot was two years ago, and his work just gets better and better…

Professional Photographers of America Magazine Article

PPA Magazine featured me in this month’s issue!  They asked me months ago if I would share my lighting style with them, and I was more than happy to.  Stephanie Boozer from PPA interviewed me extensively, and over the past few months edited down our talk to this article.  The magazine is featuring speakers for their annual convention in Nashville this year: Imaging USA.  I’ll be speaking on Sunday February 1st at the Gaylord Opryland, and I can’t wait!!!  Natalie will be running the table during the class with pamphlets I’ll be selling about my lighting style.  Thank you to Gary Hughes for helping me get on the list of speakers!  We can’t wait!!!!

Musician Headshots: Andrew Alfano

For those of you in the area, you HAVE to know Andrew.  He played in Nuts in a Blender and The Zoo.   Here are some of my favorites pics.

Boudoir Sessions

Here are a few selected pics of some boudoir shoots I’ve done over the years… enjoy!

Stylo Furniture and Product Photography

My good friend Randy was in last week to do another product photography shoot of his new pieces.  Over the years, Randy has made beautiful works of art.  His website is stylo-fd.com and here are some of the products we have photographed over the years.
