I don’t even know where to start with this blog, there’s so much to talk about! First let me say how much we love Hollow Brook for any wedding. The place has so many elements, and the staff is super nice. The weather could NOT have been better for Ally and Ian on this day either. When I shot their engagement session, I knew these two would be good in front of the camera, but I didn’t think they’d be the rock stars they are! Probably because Ally’s dad Donald Smith was a professional photographer for years, so she knew the drill.
Natalie and I didn’t know what to expect going into this because of her dad- not that he would get in our way, or be over our shoulder, or tell us what to do- it’s just that we never photographed another professional’s son or daughter’s wedding before. Well, Don pulled out his phone just once at prep, and never even had a camera with him! Just what we were hoping for. Nothing ran late, the couple had a list of who they wanted for family shots, and everyone was attentive and cooperative. When it came time for bridal portraits, we had all the time in the world! It was great!
On that note, this wedding was the most unplugged wedding we’ve seen. NO ONE got in our way, pulled out a camera (or phone) over our shoulder, or even had a phone in their hands for any of the hits. And I guarantee that every guest there had a GREAT time, and was one of the best weddings they every attended. Mostly because of the couple, and how happy and in love they are- but also because they were not concerned about getting a photo with their phone 30 feet away of them cutting the cake. My point is to all guests at times like that- just enjoy the moment. You are all welcome to every image we take…
With that being said, here are just some of the highlights from this amazing wedding, and I know it’s a lot… sorry! Just could not narrow them down any more.
