Long story short, young Jimi Ferrara purchased his first pro level camera in 8th grade, and considered himself a photographer ever since.  He later graduated with a BFA in Cinematography and minor in Photography.  After college, he started worked in the film business as a union Camera Assistant, Local 600, on movies and commercials.  Along the way he became exclusive with the Saturday Night Live Film Unit.  He build a darkroom in his house in 1998, and was hooked all over again with creating photographic art.  In 2003, he officially started a professional photography business in the Hudson Valley, and left the world of movie making and SNL soon after.  Coming from a filmmaker's background has given Ferrara an undeniable advantage in telling a story through still images, as well as being extremely efficient with a given timeline.

Growing up, Natalie always had a camera with her and loved taking photos, but never thought of it as a career until years later.  In 2010, she joined JFP as an assistant professional photographer in Hudson Valley.  Since then her love for photography has grown as well as her experience.  Natalie is not only Jimi's main associate photographer but his wife as well!  She is available for weddings and portraits on her own at a different price point.

Based in the Hudson Valley, and active members of Professional Photographers of America, the couple have won countless awards on a national and state level.  James Ferrara earned his Masters of Photography with the PPA in 2010, a PPA Craftsmanship in 2018, and is also a PPA Certified Professional Photographer.  They are always attending seminars to further their education, as well as speak on a national level.
