A mere month before her wedding, Kayla (a previous portrait client of mine) called me to see if we would be interested in going to Cancun Mexico for her wedding…. um, yes please! OF COURSE we entertained the idea, and this is nothing new to us. Timing worked out great! We each had a separate wedding the night before, came home to pack, slept for an hour and off we went to JFK. Here’s a little advice to anyone going to Cancun: do NOT listen to the people behind the counters. If you have arrangements for pick up, just head outside and find your name… Upon arriving at the Dreams Riviera Cancun, you are welcomed with champagne and treated like gold. It’s a very nice resort!
The night before the wedding was a rehearsal and small welcome dinner on the night of the Blood Moon eclipse. It was great to see that from the beach! The wedding day started with Kayla’s sister Krystal doing hair and makeup (it’s what they both do) and all the typical wedding preparation fun.
Ceremony took place on a patio with a custom made gazebo for just such an occasion, and we LOVE the fact that the local officiant stood in the aisle facing the couple so that when they look at him, they face the guests.
Kayla last minute decide to have the reception inside, and looking back we all were SO glad she did because it poured at one point during the reception, and none of us knew it even happened.
Another great destination wedding in our catalog. Thank you so much Kayla and Justin for having us capture your tropical wedding!
