Back in June of 2019, I had the opportunity to photograph one of the most memorable weddings I’ve ever captured. The groom Chet is an avid photographer, even semi professionally, and has been a fan of mine for years. I was extremely flattered when his one and only choice for photographer was me for his wedding. They booked the amazing Emmerich Tree Farm for their special day. I fell in love with location immediately: it’s secluded, quiet, rustic, plenty of grounds, great views, and the staff is beyond friendly. I can’t wait to go back!
Now and then weddings come my way that are different from the norm, and not only it is refreshing for me to be involved with something unique, but certainly for the guests. I started the day with the bride Jamie at a very cool house they rented for the weekend. The girls did their own make up, men came by to get dressed, cocktails were being poured- it was great! From there, I jumped the gun and headed over to Emmerich Farm. Chet arrived just when I did already dressed, and soon after guests showed up- although I did have to help him with his bow tie 🙂
Here’s where the day was different: they had no first look, Jamie showed up in a casual dress, and cocktail hour was before the ceremony! So when guests were arriving, food and drinks were already being served. How cool is that! First look just happened naturally, and from there, they went inside for an hour to mingle, eat a bit, have a couple drinks and then off to change for the ceremony. Jaime changed into a wedding gown, while Chet just changed his jacket and pants.
The ceremony was full of excitement- people were actually cheering as the couple walked down the aisle. There was a few speeches with lots of happy tears. Afterwards, we shot a few portraits, then off to the reception! As you can see from the photos, the entire night was a blast. Thank you so much Chet for having me part of your day!
