Falkirk Wedding Photos in the Hudson Valley: What an epic night it was for Nicole and Jayson’s Falkirk Estate wedding! No matter what time of year, or what the weather is doing, they have it all. It’s always great when everything takes place in one location- from preparation to ceremony to portraits to reception.
It all began last summer when Nicole wanted to do a location engagement session in my home town of Cornwall NY. I love shooting there not only because I know it well, but it has all the hits that couples love, and it’s never crowed. You can view that blog here Engagement shoot They both were great that day, and I got to learn more of Nicole’s dancing side, which totally played a role on her big day.
The wedding day started out with a bang with a champagne toast the second all the girls arrived to Falkirk’s bridal suite- all in matching robes. The boys were chilling downstairs in the bar (naturally) having some drinks and playing poker. How great is both scenarios?! The weather unfortunately was raining pretty much all day, so we moved the first look to the barn. Which is fine by me- It’s really nice in there with plenty of space, and something different. My assistant Justin and I did some portraits of the couple, then back inside for the ceremony. Nicole and Jayson’s grandmothers stole the show by being the flower girls as they threw petals down the aisle! It was one of the best thing I’ve ever seen at a wedding, and the whole place was cheering them on. It was a brilliant idea, and I bet everyone still talks about it. Once we finished with family and groups, we were on to the reception were Nicole and Jayson took it to a new level.
I’ve seen many a unique entrance from newlywed couples, but none like this: they both came in on an old school mini scooter and more importantly- totally owned it! Circling a few times around the floor. I don’t think they told anyone about it, because the reaction from the room was epic. They went right into a first dance which involved lots of spinning, dipping, and 100% choreographed perfecly. The rest of the night was energy everywhere, with so much fun on the dance floor, I can’t even being to explain. And to top it all off, Nicole and her bridesmaids orchestrated a surprise flash mob for not only her new husband, but everyone there. It was executed flawlessly, all jaws were dropped.
