I’ve been lucky enough to be photographing weddings at FEAST at Round Hill for nearly 20 years now, and they never let you down! It was the perfect setting for Laura and Kevin amazing colorful wedding. Everything took place there, which is the way it should be. The bridal room is filled with light, the ceremony area is private and shaded, and all the rooms make you feel like home.
I first met the couple when we had our engagement shoot in my studio. We all hit if off very well, and when I asked how the wedding planning was going, Laura said “well, my mom is trying to take over, and is complaining about one thing…” I then said “not enough red?” We all cracked up because that was exactly the case! Laura was incorporating some of her Chinese culture into the wedding, but not too much. From my standpoint, I think it was just right.
From the words of the bride herself, “Choosing a venue was pretty easy looking back. After reviewing and touring half a dozen venues, when we toured FEAST we knew we found the place. Not just for its location or even the pricing, but for the ambiance it exuded when we stepped onto the grounds. It was a home and a place we wanted to have our first moments as husband and wife. Wedding planning was smooth minus all the family drama. Haha. As a marketer who had to plan events every month, I put an immense amount of pressure on myself when it came to making sure there was enough of a personal touch. I wanted our story to be palpable throughout the wedding experience. Picking vendors was fairly easy. For my make-up and hair, I needed people who had experience working with people with monolids and thin, stubborn, Asian hair. For a photographer, my mindset was simple: if the pictures I see on someone’s website are photos I know I could take myself on my iPhone, they’re not who I want. With a little digging, I found Jimi! Seeing his artistic style and editing skills, I knew he was the one for us. It was a crazy day filled with lots of hugs, kisses, photos, and fun..”
