Maternity Session at Cornwall Park: Back in October Daniele contacted me to do a mini maternity session at her peak of her pregnancy. She didn’t want to do an elaborate shoot with multiple locations, outfit changes, etc- just something simple. I suggested the great little town I live in of Cornwall NY, and the park that’s in the heart of it all. It has everything there: big trees, a pond, a gazebo, playground, tall grass, covered stage area, stone wall, and it’s never crowded. I love going there besides that fact that it’s just down the road from my studio. We could not have asked for a better day as well! There was hazy clouds, then pure sun, and the trees were at their peak for the Fall season.
I decided to mix it up a little and bring and external flash just to play around. I typically do not do that for a lifestyle session, because I have to bring an assistant, and extra gear, but more importantly I like working with natural light- totally different than in studio. However, I knew it was just going to be Daniele for the session, and the perfect time to be artsy. My goal was to edge light her here and there, or use the flash as the main light, and the sun as an edge. You can see what I’m talking about here and there throughout the images below… Thanks!
