The Davenport Mansion Wedding Photos: Alisa + Melissa: What an amazing day! I know I say that a lot, and I’m very grateful to be able to. I couldn’t have asked for a better couple to photograph. I asked the girls to write a little something for this blog, and here is what they said:
“We met on July 4, 2020. Being that we both didn’t have our usual big family gatherings due to pandemic restrictions, a mutual friend decided to get the three of us together for a small hang out by Alisa’s pool. Let’s just say, we swam into each other’s hearts that day! A long day of swimming, eating, and getting to know each other was all we needed to want to spend more time. Later that month, we went on our first date and the rest is history. It didn’t take much time for us to realize that we wanted to spend forever together. Alisa proposed to Melissa at Pierson Park in Tarrytown at a picturesque picnic, where she had set up a charcuterie board with the words “Will you marry me?” engraved on the board hidden under some meat and cheese. Two months later, Melissa proposed back while visiting The Edge at Hudson Yards at sunset.
Choosing a venue was actually pretty easy for us. The Davenport Mansion had everything we were looking for- local, quaint, and on the water. We added our own style to the vintage mansion by choosing gold geometric decor- adding our own modern touch. Knowing Jimi for 6 years made choosing our photographer a no-brainer. He photographed Alisa’s sister’s wedding and came highly recommended from her and many other friends and colleagues. His style and creativity captured memories that will now last forever. It was important to us that we chose someone who we were both comfortable with and that came with experience. We are happy that our special day came together beautifully and we would not have changed a thing.”
