This was our second time returning to the amazing Wadsworth Mansion at Long Hill! It was back in October (on my birthday, which is great) on a perfect sunny afternoon. The day started out in a house about 30 minutes away where the bride, the groom, bridal party, and some family were staying and everyone there was getting ready at the same time. Needless to say, there was a lot going on. We eventually did a first look on the 2nd floor by a wall that was covered with some very interesting photos and made a nice backdrop. From there we had a few minutes to do some portraits of the bride and groom, and then off to Wadsworth!
If you have not been there before, the drive into the property is very impressive. The mansion is right out of a movie, and you immediately feel like you’re part of something special. We’ve seen the ceremony on the front lawn before, but not in the back yard. The set up was simple, and really made a statement with all the privacy. After the ceremony, we all went to the front of the mansion for family and groups. It’s the best spot there- you can’t beat that architecture. Once we finished family, the couple had a driver come with a vintage Morgan 4- it was so cool! I actually got to drive it a little, which was all I wanted to do on my birthday 🙂
After our portrait session in and around the Mansion, cocktail hour began out on the patio. They set up string lights, tables, and a dancing area. We were actually set up with our flashes for inside, but the whole night ended up being on the patio, with the exception of cake cutting. The rest of the night was crazy dancing, lots of toasts, and even a choreographed dance with Iris and some of her girls. It was very memorable wedding, and I want to thank Iris and Ron for letting us do our thing and capture the biggest day of their lives.
