Mohonk Wedding Photography: I couldn’t imagine a better venue for this couple’s wedding other than Mohonk Mountain House! I asked Emily to tell me their back story and here it is:
“Kevin and I met while working at a Trader Joe’s- we had some mutual friends there and I knew Kevin as the ‘adventure guy.’ Our paths did not cross much in the beginning as Kevin was often in New Paltz for school. While he was back for the summer we decided to have a small adventure of our own. What started out as a platonic walk through an arboretum, became a full, day-long exploration as we did not want to leave each other’s company! Our day-long adventure became years long, and when we decided to get married we looked at all the places that we’d been.
Mohonk Mountain House is definitely one of the most magical places we’ve ever explored. We often went hiking through the Lemon Squeeze, and fell in love with the entire grounds, and especially the gardens. So it was a very easy choice when deciding on a venue. Unfortunately, Covid began right as we really started our wedding planning. A lot was up in the air for months and Kevin and I had to decide what was the most important to us. In the end it worked out that what we really wanted was a small intimate ceremony with family where we could really just be ourselves.
Jimi was the perfect addition to our little wedding – full of personality himself, he fit right in and made everyone feel comfortable with his gleaming smile. He also just happens to know Mohonk like the back of his hand and knew just how to bring out our personalities and capture the magic of the day.”
