Fox Hollow Wedding: Melissa and Ronnie had the perfect day! I first met Melissa when she was a bridesmaid for my friend Liz’s wedding. She was a great help that day, even when it reached 110 degrees! She was super bubbly, a great bridesmaid, and full of energy. So when she contacted me about her Long Island wedding, I was beyond excited. We did a first look mid afternoon, and had plenty of time before the ceremony. The rest of the night was just one big party!
In Melissa’s own words: “Ronnie and I met back in September 2019. One of my best friends was a bridesmaid in a wedding where he was the best man and insisted that we meet. She gave him my contact info and we went on our first date a few weeks later. By the time December rolled around we decided to make things official. In March COVID hit and Ronnie came over after his last day in the office and never left (literally, it wasn’t safe). A month later we got our dog Levi and by June we moved out of my apartment into “our” first apartment.
It was Christmas Eve 2021 when Ronnie proposed, after dating two years. We wanted a spring/summer wedding so we decided we wouldn’t get married until 2023 so we wouldn’t be rushed in our planning. I always wanted a destination beach wedding but after COVID and the horror stories I heard from brides and grooms I got scared and decided to have the wedding within driving distance. I still wanted a wedding on the beach so we planned to look at beach vibe venues in Long Island and New Jersey. We saw 3 venues in our first visit to Long Island with the first venue being the Fox Hollow. We absolutely loved it and put down our deposit soon after.
Wedding planning was a rush in the beginning trying to make sure we booked all the vendors I had been eyeing over the years at all of my friends weddings. Jimi was the first one we locked in! After working with him at Lizzy and Chris’ wedding, I loved seeing his process. He has an amazing eye for the perfect shot, in any situation. I had to have him for my wedding. This decision was made back in 2019 before Ronnie and I even met!”
Thank you so much Melissa! I hope to see you and Ronni again soon. Here are some of my favs from this amazing day:
