Hudson Valley Engagement: Although I never met Dana or her husband Eric, I’ve know her sister Christina for a long. Her and I go way back, and have had many a session over the years. She asked me if was interested in doing a post wedding couple session, and of course I said yes. From her own words, here is the story:
“For my sister and brothers-in-law’s 5th wedding anniversary I wanted to do something special. When Dana and Eric got married in October 2015 it was not exactly the day every bride dreams of. They got married in the tent during a hurricane! On top of that they didn’t hire a photographer, letting a friend of a friend have a go at their big day- which NO one should ever do. They didn’t even have ONE photo of them together.
I knew months and months in advance that a session with Jimi was the perfect anniversary gift! I set it up with him ahead of time and made sure I blocked off my sister’s social calendar. It was a surprise up until a couple days before (so they could work out wardrobe and hair). Jimi picked out the perfect spot- a quaint little park in his home town with everything you need: a pond, a gazebo, trees, benches, playground, and not crowded at all. When I arrived to meet everyone, Jimi immediately put me to work as his assistant! He said, “here, you can help me with reflecting light!” Well, I mastered it with barely any training. Holding it isn’t the hard part, putting it away, that’s another story…
All in all we had the best afternoon. Any shoot I’ve done with Jimi has been a blast, but this one was extra special. Now they have over 350 perfect, professional photos with each other.”
