Mohonk Fall Wedding Photos: I’m very proud to say that I’m at Mohonk quite often, and I do love it there- what’s not to love?: amazing grounds, amazing views, and just the absolute perfect setting for this amazing couple! Megan contacted me about a year ago, and her initial email to me was the longest I’ve received. She gave me the backstory of her and Chris, how much she loved my style, and basically spoke from her heart. They chose Mohonk because Chris took her on a surprise day trip up to the Spa at Mohonk for their first date. That was a pinnacle moment of their relationship, and they couldn’t wait to go back to get married there. I ‘m so grateful the date was available! I immediately emailed her back, we set a night to meet in studio to hang out, have a drink, talk over the wedding, and made it official. We all hit it off right from the start: we talked about past Mohonk weddings, scotch, timeline of the day, their engagement, more scotch- it was a good meeting 🙂 We never did get a chance to do an engagement shoot, but that didn’t matter- the ice was well broken from our meeting, and when the wedding day came, they were super comfortable in front of the camera.
Preparation started off with a bang with Amanda (MOH) accidentally popping the champagne bottle scaring the hell out of her- glad we just happen to catch it. From there we did a first look on the porch, which was very sweet: a little tears, and so happy to see each other. I must say Chris’ suit was on point!
The garden was at it’s peak, the sun was shining, and couldn’t ask for a better day. We took full advantage of the weather and the time we had, even though there was quite a bit of wind to deal with- but it did give us some funny pics, and the rest of the day was smooth sailing… my final count for just portraits of the couple was over 400!
