Vanderbilt Lakeside Wedding Photos: It was my first time capturing a wedding at Vanderbilt Lakeside, and hopefully many more to come. It was the perfect location for Helen and Mike’s wedding. Everything took place there from prep, ceremony, portraits, and reception. That staff had food out for everyone, the girls were having a blast with hair and make up, and the boys were of course confused on all the wedding attires: ties, socks, belts, pocket squares, etc. Naturally, I had to chime in to help out- just the nature of a wedding photographer.
She was so chill from the very beginning, that just before the first look, she was on her phone playing a game! This never happens.
Upon arrival that day, forecast was not looking good. Part of my job is being aware of a timeline, and we JUST managed to get a first look and portraits outside before it really started to rain. As you can see from Helen’s constant smile that she couldn’t care less what the weather was during and after our shoot.
Many times people think you need the perfect location for family portraits, and that’s entirely true. We absolutely could not go anywhere outside due to the rain and wind, and the only spot location was in the main room. In my opinion, if it’s lit well, and everyone is relaxed, it will make a great family portrait.
The decor in main dining room was fantastic. It really set the mood, and everyone did such a good job. It was one of those weddings where I wish I was a guest with my wife!
